Tina Sollis – Volunteer
I found TWCSC at a fayre where the aim was to raise awareness for the Centre. I went to get help and support for my Mom after my cancer diagnosis only to discover I needed help and support even more urgently. I found it vital for my battle to regain my health in many ways:- the love and support of fellow warriors and survivors, advice, various therapies, friendships and kinships but mostly fun, laughter and socialising. All of this helped enormously in my recovery.
Having accessed these resources, I understood the importance in my recovery and vowed to repay the Centre and be the love, help and support for others in need. I now volunteer one day a week at the Centre and run a Craft Club that is a non verbal therapy and really enjoyable for Clients. I also fundraise to ensure that the Centre remains open so that we can continue helping people who are battling serious illness and their families who suffer right along with them.
I’m very proud to be a volunteer and glad to still be here to do it.
