We are pleased to announce that we are now open again back at our ‘home’ in Craven, Stonydelph.
Due to the recent flood we have still not been able to get our water damaged flooring replaced as yet, so it is still very much a work in progress. However, we are able to function and provide the services that the clients need so please feel free to pop by Monday – Friday between 10am – 3pm and you will be given a very warm welcome.

Charity Christmas Ball in aid of the Tamworth Wellbeing & Cancer Support Centre.
On Saturday 12th December 2015 at the Tower Suite, Drayton Manor.
Arrival time 7pm – Dinner served at 8pm.
Entertainment from ABBA AGAIN plus disco. 
Dress code – anything ‘Royal’ or formal black tie evening wear.

We are pleased to announce that we now have a temporary venue we can use for craft group and coffee mornings, whilst our building is being dried out.
We will now be using the Fazeley Church Centre, attached to the back of the church, next to Millfields School. (St Paul’s Church Hall, Coleshill Street, Fazeley, Tamworth, Staffordshire B78 3RQ)
We will be there from 10am – 2.30pm on a Monday and a Friday until further notice.

On Saturday morning, 4th July, the Stonydelph Centre of the TWCSC charity was severely affected by storm flooding, and discovered by the Trustees. The run-off entered under the main door, despite having the protection of storm drainage channels and metal shuttering.
The flooding was deep enough to have affected every floor throughout the Centre causing damage to the flooring, furniture and other property.
With hygiene considerations to the fore, the community cookery and healthy eating event scheduled for that morning had to be cancelled, along with the normal planned activities at the Centre for the foreseeable future.
Immediate action was taken to mop up, drawing on support from a small army of volunteers, to whom we owe our thanks.
Had this event not been scheduled, the flooding would not have been discovered until Monday morning, and the damage to premises and furniture, fixtures and fitting would have been much more severe. Thankfully, after a message was put out on social media, a number of supporters came to help, along with the emergency call-out team from the insurers.
We are now having the damage assessed by our insurers and the Council (landlords of the Centre) and, immediately, the flooring is being removed and the area fully sanitised prior to replacement.
There is now a huge amount to do on top of what can be achieved through the insurers, and a task force is in place to co-ordinate offers of help. We are challenging ourselves and all our local supporters to take this opportunity to make our Centre even better, while retaining the friendly, welcoming and supportive atmosphere that we create for our clients.
We would like to apologise to our clients and supporters for the disruption to services. We assure you that we will endeavour to resume normal service as soon as possible.

A very brave former cancer patient from Tamworth will be taking the plunge to have her long flowing locks shaved off to raise money for charity.
Sue Philbin, from Glascote, will be having her 28 inch long hair shaved off on Thursday 18th June which will be 7 years to the day when she finished her cancer treatment.
Sue said “Most people that know me, know I never have my hair cut shorter than my shoulders but I’ve decided that I’m going to have my head ‘shaved’ on June 18th for two reasons. Firstly to raise vital funds for The Tamworth Wellbeing & Cancer Support Centre here in Tamworth where I, and many others have received amazing support. Secondly the hair will then be sent off to The Little Princess Trust for them to make wigs for children who have lost their hair due to the gruelling cancer treatment.”
The Tamworth Wellbeing & Cancer Support Centre supports people affected by cancer and other chronic illnesses. Like many of the volunteers at the centre Sue was initially a client who soon became a volunteer as she wanted to offer the same support to other people that she had received.
Centre Manager Paula Da-Silva said “I am overwhelmed that Sue has decided to undertake this to raise money for the charity. She is a wonderful, selfless lady who is an invaluable member of the team”
